After graduating from the University of Southwest Louisiana in 1975 with a degree in Horticulture, Gerald L. Foret, Jr. started his own company, Gerald Foret Landscaping. Like most self built companies, Gerald started with a pickup truck, shovel, and a wheel barrow, and with much determination he fought through the oil recession of the 80's. Always wanting to be a grower, he decided to start a small, 20 acre field, operation, and the landscaping company helped finance the growing operation for a number of years until the nursery could stand on its own.

Now that technology is very much the driving force of many businesses, we have phased out much of the field operation and have gone to primarily container production. We feel that we can grow a tree much faster in a container and the South Louisiana climate grants us a very productive 10 month growing season.

The landscaping industry has certainly changed a great deal in recent years, and as our industry continues to change we plan to update our nursery practices to keep up with these changes. Our Staff

Our knowledgeable and hard-working staff members are the main ingredients in our recipe for success.

Gerald Foret, a horticulturist, is very active in the business. He founded the nursery in 1979 beginning with seven acres and a red-tin shed. Gerald has stayed active in professional organizations, trade shows, and leadership positions in his state association.

Gerard Vincent is the Nursery Production Manager, and has been a team player since1980.
As orders come in, Gerard tags and carefully grades the trees for shipping.
All shipments are then quality controlled, making sure that only the highest quality product is shipped.

Denise Clark is our Assistant Production Manager. She is in charge of the production crews, and she oversees the day-to-day pruning, as well as the fertilizer and herbicide application. She also maintains and troubleshoots the drip irrigation system.

Our Policies

• Credit arrangements are made before shipment or customer pickup.
• C.O.D. only, unless credit application has been completed and processed.
• Past due accounts will be charged 1.5% per month on unpaid balance.
• If collection fees are incurred, the customer will be responsible.
• Gerald Foret Wholesale Nursery will do everything possible to insure that nursery stock arrives to destination in good condition.
